Is a procedure in which a sample of skin tissue is removed, processed, and examined under a microscope. This is most often done to diagnose unsure skin conditions and tumors.
A surgical procedure done to remove growths such as tumors, cysts, and moles on the skin.
Removes unwanted skin lesions and growths such as warts, skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, syringomas, etc. This is also used to burn and seal blood vessels during dermatologic surgery.
Uses freezing through liquid nitrogen to treat a variety of benign and malignant skin conditions.
Removal of the nail plate is sometimes required if there is involvement of the nail unit. (eg. warts, glomus tumor, etc.). Nail can be removed completely or partially, depending on area of involved.
Use of pulsed dye laser for treatment of vascular lesions - rosacea, keloid, telangiectasias, diffuse redness, hemangiomas, etc. Use of ND:Yag for treatment of pigmented lesions - tattoos, solar keratoses, freckles, scars, etc.
Keloids can be difficult to treat. Most common treatments include injection of steroid into the keloid, cryotherapy, pulsed dye laser.
